It’s a GIRL!!!!!

Sweet baby #2 is a healthy baby girl!  We are so excited.  We went to the ultrasound appointment at 8:30 Wednesday morning.  The sonogram tech wanted to take all the “boring measurements” (her words, not mine) first.  I have to admit…I got a little antsy, but at the same time I was relieved to see that everything was measuring on track, etc.  Then Trent wanted to guess before she told us the sex.  When it came time I instantly saw the 3 little lines and knew it was a girl!  Trent also guessed girl and she smiled and said, “yes, it is a girl!”.  We kept it to ourselves all day (which was VERY hard and apparently I didn’t do as good of a job as I thought I did at that) so that we could announce it at our second Gender Reveal Party!

A quick flashback to how we announced it at Hudson’s Gender Reveal Party:

So, 5:30 finally arrived and we hosted our second Gender Reveal party and this time our sweet Hudson got to do the announcing:

The icing on the cake…

Well, the hits just keep on coming here at the Fletcher/Lambert household! Up to this point in the pregnancy I had avoided any trips to the hospital, a fact I was pretty proud of since I went a few times with Hudson.  That all changed yesterday.  Thanks to the stress of last week and the 100+ degree heat we are having here, I landed in Labor and Delivery yesterday for severe dehydration.  7 hours, 3 bags of fluid, shot of zofran, shot of phenegran and some chicken broth later and we were back home. I am grateful that I was able to go to L&D and avoid the ER – they get you in so much faster up there and relief is almost immediate. let’s hope that is the last of the hospital visits for our family for a while…at least until delivery time…

Not just a walk in the park…

We had a very scary week around here.  Tuesday night we had to call an ambulance for my dad at midnight.  He was experiencing chest pains and very high blood pressure.  Back in ‘95 he had a heart attack and underwent double by-pass surgery.  I felt like I was experiencing déjà vu…here I am living at home again and dad thinks he is having a heart attack again. Except of course, I am now older, married, have a family and I am pregnant.  Stress is not so good for pregnancy.  Anyway, after a very long night and a hospital transfer, we learned that Dad had suffered another heart attack.  Thankfully, it was mild (just like in ‘95).  On Thursday they performed an angiogram to see what damage had been done and how much blockage there was to the heart.  We were praying that he could have a stint put in, instead of by-pass again. Our prayers were answered and his (excellent) doctor was able to drop a stint in to the same artery that had been by-passed fifteen years ago.  I learned that when a vein from your leg is used in a by-pass, like my dad, it is only good for 10 –15 years.  With the stint in place he should not experience any more problems!  Praise the Lord!  We are all very relieved and very grateful!  Dad is home now and resting.

Needless to say – Hudson’s routine was out of sorts this week and we didn’t do a lot outside of sitting at the hospital.  So, Trent and I took him to the park this morning for a little fun…

We are grateful for fun family days and a healthy Papa. :)

Here’s a shocker…another house update…:)

A LOT has been accomplished since my last update. I am skipping the in-between pictures and just cutting to the latest. The exterior is complete as far as brick and stone goes:

This is a terrible picture, but you can’t see the stain on the cabinets unless it is taken this way:

Master bath…they paint all the walls in the house the latte color we picked, then they go back and paint over a few rooms with the other colors we picked:

You can see the antique finish on the cabinet and part of the mantle:

Upstairs game room…the lighting is off in this picture so the latte doesn’t look so latte. :)  We decided to have them paint the wainscoting white rather than take it down:

Yet another house update…

The cabinets have since been stained and the brick is finished, but I do not have updated pictures of that yet.  They are starting to put the stone on the house this week. The driveway should be poured next week!  We are moving right along…

Summer Nights…

and days…

Yesterday was such a fun summer day!  We started the day at Darius’ 2nd birthday party.  I didn’t get any pictures there, but we had a fun time playing the pool and celebrating a sweet little boy!

After naps (in the big boy bed and longer than usual, yea!) we went swimming here at the house.  Hudson had a fun time playing in the sprinkler and the pool.  I think the most fun he had though was dumping water on Papa’s head repeatedly (Papa enjoyed it too, believe it or not).  We used Hudson’s new puddle jumper which I am in LOVE with!  I think this might be the best buy we have made in a while.  Hudson is able to float in the pool safely next to us.  It is the perfect thing for this pregnant mommy!  And it is perfect for our Mr. Independent 2-year-old! Win, win!
