Fun with Friends!

We had a fun impromptu playdate with some friends the other day.  The kids were having a great time running around and playing together. And they were all fascinated and intrigued by baby Addie (hope Hudson and Gates are still so intrigued come later this year!).  It was a fun day!

Future T-ball player…

Katie and Jacob gave us this awesome T-ball set for his birthday.  It is perfect for our little boy who loves to be outside!  Trent and Huddy had some fun in the backyard recently…made me think of the future when Hudson will play on a t-ball team!  So fun!

Those lazy, hazy days of summer…

Our summer has definitely been on the lazy side.  I have tried to stay in out of the heat as much as possible since I just don’t seem to handle it well.  Trent and Huddy did a little bonding while watching the last game of the World Cup (there might be a tear in Trent’s eye since his favorite thing ever was coming to an end until 2014…)

Out of the mouths…

This afternoon when we got home there was a couple sitting on the curb across the street from my parent’s house.  They looked to be a little down on their luck…Hudson noticed them when we pulled into the driveway.  As soon as I had him out of the car he started yelling to the couple: “Hewoah (hello)!  You guys okay??”

He continued to yell until I had him in the house…

Meet Judge…

Judge is Hudson’s bestie.  Judge pretty much goes everywhere with us these days. And don’t even think about naptime or bedtime without him because a hysterical meltdown will definitely follow.  Judge is the first lovey that has stuck with Hudson and they have been inseparable for months now.  Mommy loves it because Judge is a Baylor Bear (of course) and I am hoping those subliminal messages are getting through. :)

The end is in sight…

The house is so close to being ready!  We went by yesterday and we were surprised to see almost all the lighting is in!  I took lots of pictures, mainly of the light fixtures:

4th of July Fun!

We started our fun 4th by eating at our favorite restaurant. :)

After long naps for Hudson and I, we headed to Kristin and Todd’s annual 4th of July party. They had lots of fun water toys set up for the kids:

After drying off and eating a little – Hudson went for one more run around the yard:

Then we headed out and put Hudson down for the night.  Trent and I went to watch some fireworks.  We had never gone to see these fireworks before, so we weren’t sure of our spot for viewing. It turned out to be a pretty good choice though there were some trees that got in the way at times.  Still, it was a beautiful night and beautiful fireworks:

Toy Story 3!

My dad and I took Hudson to see Toy Story 3 this week. I wasn’t sure how he would do – he likes to watch movies at home (and goodness knows we have watched plenty of them throughout my pregnancy), but the theater was a different story. Right when we decided to leave the skies opened up so I put on his raincoat and off we went:

I put him in his own chair with a booster seat and brought plenty of snacks just in case.  He was enthralled from the minute we walked in the doors.  I heard a lot of “wow” and “oh my!”.  The previews held his attention, as did the Pixar “short” film (those things are so not short, especially without dialogue, especially with a 2-year-old!).  He sat through the whole movie completely entranced. During one dramatic moment at the beginning between Woody and Jessie, he yelled out “oh no!!!!” and that cracked everyone in the theater up (thank goodness!).  There was a part at the end that was a little intense for toddlers (and adults for that matter) and he got a little nervous. He crawled into my lap and kept saying “okay? okay?” over and over. Other than that it was a fun first movie experience!

Can’t wait to see more movies with my buddy! :)
