Photo shoot…

I have been planning Hudson and Harper’s one year and four year pictures for months. I decided to do them in January (split the difference) to save money and just have one sitting fee.  Well, to make a long story short I asked myself why I was going to pay someone else to take them when I could do it myself…So, I did.
Thanks to pinterest for this idea:

And thanks to Target for a toy to bribe my son to smile. :) I am super excited about how they turned out. I took a LOT of pictures.  These were my very, very favorites that I chose to edit. :) Can’t wait for the next one!

Momentous Occasion!

Hudson is our super picky eater (happened when he turned 2 and hasn’t grown out of it yet).  He has a major aversion to most meats (except Joe T’s chicken and fajita steak).  The other day I took both kids to the park and when we left Hud asked for fries.  I pulled out his sandwich to eat on the way (I pack a sandwich for him every where we go to eat for lunch) and he said “No, mommy! I want chicken please).  This was HUGE! (And hasn’t happened since…sigh).  However, I had to document the day my sweet boy not only requested chicken, but ate it! (And I realize that CFA chicken nuggets aren’t exactly the healthiest in the world, but I will take it!!!)

This and that….

I finally got my winter mantle done (and I am going to try to get my Valentine’s project done tomorrow to put up there!)

And thanks to my smart friend Jenny, we hung these awesome book shelves in Hud’s room!

Still to come…an awesome project for Hud’s room that I am SO excited about!!

Quick trip

We took a very quick trip to Waco a few weeks ago.  It was very spur of the moment and fun! Trent was working (it was a Saturday) and I needed to return something to the bookstore – so my parents and I decided to take the kids for the day.  Since my dad is still tiring pretty easily, we didn’t tell anyone we were going. Just went down and back pretty quickly.  My dad hasn’t been to Waco in a few years, so it was a treat to show him all the new sights!

I did a quick (very quick) photo shoot with the kids.  I wanted a picture of Hud for his birthday invite and I wanted one for a little project I am doing for one. I got both – so mission accomplished. Just disappointed we didn’t run into RG3 while we were there! :)

Mom thought it would be fun to put Harps on Hud’s shoulders (they clearly thought it was fun as well). I didn’t realize she wanted to be in the picture (because usually she makes me promise not to take her picture!) until later!

“Great idea!”

The kids were playing with Hudson’s train track set the other day.  It was cracking me up because Harps would hand Hud a piece and every single time he said, “Great idea, Harper!” I love watching them play together!
