Harper’s first bath…

She was about as big of a fan as her big brother was during his first bath:

After her bath we discovered something new about Miss Harper…she has curls!  Trent didn’t quite know what to do with that he said…she comes from a long line of curly haired girls on my side:

And of course we had to have a photo shoot:

Swinging and Sunning….

We wanted to make sure that Harper had all of the jaundice out, so we set her up in the swing in a sunny window. And I used the opportunity to snap a few more pictures of her.

Coming home…

We finally got to come home yesterday!  We had a small delay (that we totally expected) because Harper had jaundice.  So, she spent Saturday in the “tanning” bed:

Flashback to 2008:

Her levels came down and we got the go-ahead to go home on Sunday!  We got her dressed in her coming-home outfit:

Big brother was napping when we got home, so we were anxiously awaiting him to wake up.  He was a little overwhelmed when he first woke up (for starters his nap wasn’t long enough).  But, once things calmed down he was super excited to see his baby sister!

I have the sweetest video of Hudson talking to Harper, but I can’t get it to upload right now. I will definitely upload it later.

One last thing – someone brought this vase to my mom when she was in the hospital with me. She filled it with roses and brought it to me! Isn’t it precious? I am going to save it and do the same for Harper MANY years from now. :)

Hudson and Harper meet!

We had my mom bring Hudson up to the hospital as soon as we were in the post-partum room. I was anxious to see his reaction to his new sister - he loves babies these days so I had high hopes. In true Hudson fashion he spent the first few minutes exploring the room before he noticed that there was a little person there. When he saw Harper, he went over to her and immediately started talking to her. "Hi baby. Oh, she's cuuuuuute". He tried to feed her his fruit snacks and cover her with a blanket. It was precious and made me tear up (of course). I have the feeling they are going to be best buddies and I look forward to watching their relationship grow and develop. I got some pictures of them interacting - I didn't get the new family of four picture I wanted but there is plenty of time for that later.
