Harper’s six month stats

We finally had Harper’s six month appointment yesterday.  We were off a week because I delayed her four month a week when Hudson had the flu.  She tends to spike a fever when she gets shots and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to tell if she had side effects or the flu. Then this month I had to postpone because we went out of town (more on that later).  So, we are about two weeks off.

Her appointment went well.  She is on track developmentally and ready for baby food. She has been bigger than Hudson at every appointment until now.

Her stats:

Height – 27 1/4 inches (originally they said 27 1/2 so who knows) – 90%

Weight – 17 lbs 9 oz – 75%

Head – 17 1/2 inches

Hudson at six months:

Height – 28 1/2 inches (off the charts)

Weight – 18 lbs 12 oz (75%)

Head – 17 1/2 inches :)

“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse”

Hudson is a little obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse lately.  A few weeks ago, Trent and a few of our favorite friends put together his swing set! He has since taken to call it Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. :)

Putting together this playset was a huge undertaking. We are so grateful to Jon and Brandon for helping us (and by us I mean Trent).  Trent put together as much  as he could beforehand.  They started around 10 that morning and finished around 5 that afternoon.

Harper and Alan had some playmat time together:

She just didn’t want to leave him alone! :)

Hudson was chomping at the bit to get out there:

At last they were free to play! And play they did…

Hudson introduced Keelan to his favorite pastime…spying…:

Harper can’t wait to play:

But for now a nap will do:

Come on over and Hudson will serve up some “diet fries” and “diet coke” for you:

Unfortunately, the day did not end accident free. :(  Brandon had a drill hit his foot which resulted in a trip to the ER and a tetanus shot. Words can’t describe how awful I felt!!! :(

We look forward to many fun times and memories!

Royal Wedding!

I have been looking forward to the Royal Wedding since Will and Kate announced their engagement last fall. And I am PAINFULLY aware that I was the only person in our house that was super excited.  But, I choose to believe Harper would be as excited as I was – if she knew what was going on.  Since she chose not to nap very long and instead hang out with me on the couch and watch – I am thinking she had an inkling there was a historical event going on.

Anyway, to celebrate the Royal Wedding I found a recipe for ww friendly blueberry scones on my favorite website ever! We had plans to go to the park that morning, so I shut myself off from the world (i.e. I did not turn on my computer or tv) so I would not see the “dress” before I had time to sit down and watch the whole thing. Before we left, my favorite cooking partner helped me bake the scones:

They tasted delicious and not low-fat at all!  And the wedding was all I had hoped for and more. :)  Hudson took an extra long nap and I was able to see the whole thing without interruption. He made it downstairs for the famous balcony kiss. He pointed to the TV (and Kate) and said “what’s that?” I told him it was a pretty princess.  He said, “I take the princess?” I laughed and told him he was a little late. :)

Easter 2011

So, I am a little behind…but better late than never, right??  I never even blogged about Easter last year, but that was due to the fact that I was a little incapacitated by my pregnancy with Harps. :)

This year we went to church on Saturday night which made for a really laid-back Easter Sunday which was nice.  The Easter Bunny stopped by the house to leave some goodies for the kids:

Hudson was excited to tear into his basket that morning.  He was a little confused by why the bunny didn’t stick around to say hi, but he got over it quickly:

Harper slept in that morning, but was super excited about her own basket:

Of course, we had to have a little photo shoot afterwards:

Then it was time for the big egg hunt…Hudson was SO excited:

He did pretty well:

Harper was a little pouty she couldn’t hunt…next year sweetheart…

After a delicious meal (cooked by Trent), Mom brought out our traditional bunny cake that she baked.  Hudson helped put the final touches on it:
