Our little helper?

Who needs toys when you have a box full of Daddy's new shirts? I am constantly amazed by the little things that Huddy finds entertaining. He will spend thirty minutes taking these shirts out and ever so carefully putting them back in the box. Over and over again...

Waiting is the hardest part...

My Uncle had triple bypass surgery today (it was supposed to be a double, but then when they got in there they discovered they needed to do a triple). Fortunately, they think everything went well. That is a huge relief to all of us. It was a strange mix of emotions - the surgery was 14 years (almost to the exact day) of my dad's double bypass. The same surgeon that operated on my dad operated today on my uncle. We think the world of this doctor and were grateful to know he was in such good and capable hands. I know my uncle is going to recuperate quickly and bounce back just like my dad did! And I am also really glad the surgery is over. :)

Hudson's new language

Hudson has started really chatterboxing lately (as my mom would put it). It is cracking us up on a daily basis. He has a little language all to himself that we think is pretty adorable. :) I tried to capture it tonight on video - you can hear him with a little whining thrown in because he hates being constrained (we were putting lotion on, etc. Getting ready for bedtime). Anyway, about a minute into the video he really gets going. Picture this- all.day.long. :)

Still loving the piano...

I can't get over how much our boy loves the piano! We were at Trent's mom's friend's house Saturday night and he (Dave) started playing the piano. Hudson could not get over there fast enough for their duet! :) You will notice that once he has his milk he doesn't put that down either!! Funny boy!

Fourteen Months!!!

Dear Hudson,
You are fourteen months today! I feel like I say this every month, but you are so much fun. It truly does get more fun every day. You are still a smiley little pumpkin and make friends wherever we go. You are very into waving to every person you see lately and get a little frustrated if they don't wave back at you. You have recently started clapping about everything again and I love that. You are still a very good eater and we are thankful for that. If I had to pick one word to describe you it would be busy. You are very active and interested in everything. You aren't quite walking yet, but I really do feel like you are close. You love when there are "big" kids around, they make you laugh like nothing else. You still love Little Einstein's (especially Annie), but you really love The Backyardigains. So cute to watch. Your daddy and I wised up this month and finally got black out shades for your room. Who knew it could make such a difference! You are now sleeping until 8:00 in the morning! This has made for such a happier little boy (and a happier mommy!). You love bathtime - I think it is one of your favorite times of the day. You also love music - you are enjoying your Kindermusik class so much and you have discovered a love of "playing" the piano. You dance around whenever you hear music and sometimes you tap your leg along to the beat. You have added a few new words to your vocabulary - okay, yeah, hey, hi, uh-oh and yes. You love to say "oh, okay" in response to most everything we say to you! You still love to be outside more than anything and we are happy to oblige. :) We love you so much baby boy. You bring so much joy and laughter to our lives. What a gift you are to us.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Sneak Peek...

We had Hudson's one year pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. We could not be more thrilled with how they turned out! Huddy isn't the easiest to photograph because he is so busy and inquisitive, but our photographer did such a fantastic job (in our opinion). Here is a sneak peek...

Friday Fun!

We got back into our Friday breakfast routine today. We try to meet Jess and the girls and Holly every Friday for breakfast. Today was the first time that Hudson was able to go and play with the "big kids". He had so much fun trying to keep up with them. Claire was so sweet to Huddy looking out for him and making sure he was okay. My favorite is when he tried to follow them up the big yellow slide. He was able to climb up onto the slide all by himself, but didn't get much further than that. He sure had fun though! :)

Music Lessons Appear to be Paying off…

025 015 018 019 021 022 023

Hudson really loves music. He was having a great time yesterday making "music" on my parents piano. Let's hope he gets a little of his dad's musical ability and not his mom's!

April Playdate!

Tiffanie hosted such a fun playdate for us today! She had a bounce house set up in the back - it was fun to put the babies in it and see what they thought. They weren't completely sure what to think, but I know in a few months they will be loving that! It is so much fun to watch these little ones grow up together and play together!
P.S. Today was Gates' FIRST birthday!!! Happy Birthday Gates!!!

Easter Flashback...

Hudson's First Easter 2008 (one month old)

Hudson's Second Easter 2009 (thirteen months old)

Easter Sunday 2009

We had a fun, relaxing Easter yesterday! We actually went to church Saturday night instead of Sunday morning. Our church held two services on Saturday night - this worked out well for us for a variety of reasons (including the fact that Hudson and church have issues these days). It felt a little odd saying "He is Risen, indeed" on Saturday night, but our pastor explained that Easter technically starts on Saturday night because of the Hebrew calendar. Glad he said that because I had been telling Trent I was going to say "He is Rising Tomorrow"! (I wouldn't have really said that - don't worry).
Because of the yucky weather Sunday morning(and b/c we still have a cruiser and not a full-out walker) we held our Easter Egg Hunt inside. However, not very far into it, Huddy decided that riding in his new cozy coupe that E Bunny left him would be a much more fun way to pick up eggs. Silly boy! :) Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
