Dinner with friends!

We met our friends for dinner a couple of weeks ago. On the way there Hud requested a picture (a rare treat!):

The boys were having a great time!

We busted out the itouches towards the end so we could talk for a bit longer:

Zero pics of sweet Harps (and Savannah) because Harper was not in the mood to sit still! Until she decided to stretch out on the bench next to Trent and lay down for a bit. :)
Fun times!

Saturday fun

We had a busy Saturday a few weeks ago. We started with lunch at CFA.

Harper decided she was a big girl and climbed to the top and came down the slide!   Big brother was, as always, a big helper:

Next we headed to sweet Mya’s birthday party:

I have way more pictures of Harper than Hud because a.) he is too fast and b.) for the most part I was with Harps while Trent was with Hud. :)

We had a scary moment when Harper (our very cautious Harper) decided to take a step off a mat that was eight inches high and face planted.  She split the little flap that connect the lip to the gum. I am not going to lie – it bled a lot (as mouth wounds tend to do). I freaked thinking she knocked a tooth loose! Luckily, she was fine.  Two days later she crashed again at the bounce house place!!! It didn’t bleed nearly as much though – thank goodness!!!

After all of that fun – we still hadn’t had enough and headed to Joe T’s for dinner! Perfect night for the patio. There had *just* been a rain shower. We sat in the covered area and there was such a pleasant breeze.  It was perfect!

Last hurrah!

We had a last hurrah with my friend Sophie and her family before she had to go back to school. :(  We met them for a swim date at a pool that we used to frequent quite a bit!  It was in the middle of Harper’s nap time so she stayed behind with Nana and Pop.  I didn’t take many pictures because I was too busy in the water. :)

Soph and her family had to leave around 3:45. Hud and I ended up staying until 5:00. We had a great date!

Four straight hours of swimming will do what nothing else can…exhaust my boy! :)

The zoo…in August!

I do a lot of complaining about the heat in Texas in August. I am happy to report I haven’t had much to complain about this August!  We have had a relatively mild August!  In fact, we have had a number of mornings that were pleasant enough to go to the zoo, park, etc.

We took advantage of it and hit the zoo one day!

Harper and G (and one of Harper’s ba ba ba’s. She is rarely without one!):

There was a zoo keeper waiting to answer questions about the hippos.  I didn’t think the kids would ask anything, but I was wrong! It was super cute:

The train is always a hit!

And a flashback of those two cuties:

Waco play date!

We had a fun play date in Waco a couple of weeks ago!  We have been trying to meet up for a play date with these fun friends for literally YEARS!!!  Something has always come up on our end (pregnancy, double booking, stomach flu).  Honestly, I was a little fearful of what was going to happen once we solidified the date! But, thankfully everything (and everyone) was fine and we made it!! :)

We went to the awesome Mayborn museum. The kids had a blast! Eight kids ranging from 21 months to almost 9, they had so much fun!!

I love that my girl is always ready to smile on command:

Such a fun time and can’t wait to meet up again!!

Dallas museum date

Mallie and I took the kids to check out the Dallas children’s museum.  It is closing at the end of September so we had to act fast! (They are open a new one in downtown).

It was definitely fun to check out – though we both agree we prefer the Fort Worth one.

All pics are iphone or instagram because I didn't bring my big camera.IMG_0067 IMG_0068 IMG_0070 IMG_0074 IMG_0076 IMG_0079 IMG_0080 IMG_0081 IMG_0082 IMG_0084 IMG_0085
