Last day of Camp Thurman!

I have so much I could say about Camp Thurman.  It turned out to be everything I have always heard and more.  Hudson had the best week of his life.  He got in the car every day bursting with stories about his day.  He had different adventures every day and made so many new friends.  But, the best part of all is how much my little bug soaked up about Jesus. Every night he brought his bible downstairs and told us, “Now I have to do some learning about Jesus”. He memorized his verse for the week (I will have to post the precious video of him reciting it).  The week spurred so many questions about Jesus, heaven and our faith. Everything that is said is true – Camp Thurman is truly an amazing place. I can’t wait for him to go back and for Harper to attend one day.

His awesome counselors for the week, Rafiki and Drum:

The last day they got to have their faces painted, Hudson chose a jaguar:

Not sure what is going on here:

So thankful for Camp Thurman and the impact that it had on my sweet boy’s heart.

Mommy and Harper fun Day 5

On the last day of CT week, Harper and I hit the splash park with some of her favorite people.

Kate is one of her favorite people in the world. She gets SO excited when I tell her we are seeing Kate. Luckily, Kate was able to convince her to have fun in the sprinklers:

The splash area was invaded by a huge group of older kids, so we retreated to the playground (and shade) for a picnic:

Then we retreated to my parents house where we both took long naps.  I will admit I totally took advantage of my non-napping child being gone this week and napped most days when Harper did. :)

Mommy and Harper fun Day 4

On day 4 of CT week, Harper had a play date with a sweet friend named Rose. This was their first play date and they had so much fun.  We met them at open gym:

Then headed over to the library for a little light reading:

The girls had such fun and Melissa and I had fun catching up! Looking forward to more playdates!

Afterwards, Harper and I headed to CFA at her request. Nana and Pop met us there. Harper will only eat cones these days:

Mommy and Harper fun Day 3

On Wednesday of CT week, Harper and I hit the park. This resulted in one of my more embarrassing moments ever. The kids often sit in Trent’s lap while he swings them. Harper wanted to do this with me, but I am clearly not as talented as he is…at one point she was slipping so I let go with one hand to hoist her up. Somehow, I managed to flip over backwards and couldn’t right myself again.  I managed to cocoon her somehow and took the brunt of the fall on my shoulder.  About six different people came running which was super sweet, but equally embarrassing.  However, we got past it and had a fun morning at the park after that:

And Hudson made this awesome crown at camp that day and was so proud of it!

Hawaiian Falls

While Hud was at camp, Harper and I played. On Tuesday we hit Hawaiian Falls. We have passes this year, so I envision a lot of time spent there. Lizabeth and I took just the girls and I think they loved being in charge for once!

And this is what pick up looked like every afternoon from camp:

It was a well-oiled machine, but I was amazed at how many cars went through each day.

Camp Thurman!!!

Hudson went to Camp Thurman for the first time this year!  I sent him to the full day camp which made me a little nervous, I was afraid it would be too long for him.  But, Lizabeth and I wanted Hud and Sam to be together, so we went with full day.  I have heard wonderful things about CT all of my life.  Many of my friends grew up attending (I wasn’t exactly the camp type ;)) and then went on to work there. A few of my friends even met their future husbands there! And now just about everyone I know sends their kids.  We attended the Open House which I was really excited about, I couldn’t wait to see what they would be doing.  It was clearly right up Hudson’s alley. Monday morning (bright and early), he was ready to go!  I  was nervous dropping him off – that was the longest he has been away from me (other than with my mom) EVER. But, I knew he would love it. So, I dropped off my sweet boy and cried a little on the drive home. :)

Nana and Pop’s pool is open!

He is a swimmer now! He is such a fish!

She looks the part. :)
