Yum!

Well, carrots are a hit! Huddy's menu now includes avocado, sweet potatoes, apples, squash, oatmeal and carrots. He seem to love everything except oatmeal which was a disaster.
***Sidenote: Thank goodness Trent missed this particular feeding experience!
***Sidenote 2: I was going to start him on green beans today, but since I hate green beans with a passion I decided to let Trent feed those to him. There is no way I can make the appropriate "yummy" noises while feeding him that disgusting veggie (no offense to the green bean lovers out there). I would hate to influence him at such a young age to hate the green beans. On the other hand that might not be such a bad idea....I kid, I kid.

I have been wanting to get Hudson a taggie blanket for a while now. Today my mom surprised him (and me!) with one she made! He loves it:

Thanks Nana/Mom!!!

Last Visit...

Today was our last visit to Trent's office. He will be starting his new job soon and we wanted to have one last lunch with him at his current job. Here are some pictures of Huddy and his Daddy in Daddy's office:

Papa (aka my dad) gave Huddy this book and bear for our upcoming trip:

Quick poll...

Flu shot...yea or nay for you? For baby?

Thanks.

Six month stats

Today was Hudson's six month appointment. He was a champ when it came to getting his shots. He cried during the stick, but after that he was fine. Not even very sleepy which has been his typical post-shot reaction.
We have a big boy on our hands. Here are his six month stats:
Length - 28 1/2 inches - off the charts!
Weight - 18 lbs. 12 oz. - 75th percentile
Head - 17 1/2 - 65th percentile
We love our sweet big baby boy!

Hudson's new napping place...

Jess, look familiar??? :)

What a difference six months makes...

Six Months!

Dear Hudson,
I can hardly believe you are six months old today! We had a fun month this past month. You met your Grandpa and Grandma D and had fun hanging out with them. You started eating solid foods (avocado and sweet potatoes are a hit, oatmeal not so much). We took a short road trip in preparation for a very long road trip. You did great! You love your big boy car seat. I think you like that you are a bit higher and can see out the window a little better. You have officially rolled both directions - though you don't have much interest in doing it on a regular basis. You are trying your hardest to sit up and I know you will be there before we know it. You love to snuggle with us and we love that you love that. You have become a nap time tummy sleeper. Never in the crib, but you love to fall asleep on the couch. Suddenly you love your paci (you didn't have much use for it before). You have learned it to take it out and put it back in on your own and love to do that over and over again. Time will tell if that is a teething thing or a permanent love. Your love for Myron has cooled off a bit as you begin to discover other toys around you. These past few days you have found your voice and let us all know about it! Your daddy and I love to make up songs to sing to you. You are such a happy little pumpkin. You wake up cooing every morning and I love the sound of it through the monitor. You have been described over and over again as "so chill". It is such an accurate description of you. You are such a blessing to us and we could not love you more. We can't wait to watch you grow and learn over the next six months.
We love you so much!
Mommy and Daddy

Play Date Time!

We had another fun play date today! We added another new member to our group, but unfortunately they had to leave before we got to the couch picture. We will make sure to get one of Darius next time. He is a cutie! Katie and Jacob weren't able to join us this month, so after Darius left it was just Hudson and the ladies. It made for some pretty cute pictures!

Road Trip!

On a whim we decided to take a road trip today. PH (pre-Huddy) Trent and I loved to take spontaneous road trips. It was fun to bring that tradition back today. It was also good practice because we will be taking a very long road trip in a few weeks with Hud. Anyway, we trekked down to one my favorite places in the world today - Baylor. It was Hudson's first visit to his future alma mater (no pressure) so of course I documented every step of the trip.

I packed a bag of toys for Huddy:
He seemed to like his book: Strike that - he seemed to like EATING his book:
Our first stop was Rudy's for some BBQ...
Then we headed to campus. We stopped off to see the bears: Lady and Joy. I have no idea which one this is:
The new bear habitat is pretty amazing:

Here we are in Burleson Quadrangle:

This is one of the newer buildings on campus. There is a whole part to BU that I do not recognize at all. Crazy:

Huddy hanging out in the SUB:

After a long day Hudson slept the whole way home:

This is my favorite picture of the day. There used to be a swinging bench hanging from the tree. This is the place that Trent proposed to me. Of course I had to get a picture and I love that Hudson is smiling as big as he is in it!

Just for kicks...here is a picture of Trent and I the day we got engaged:

We had such a fun day! Hudson did so well on the trip that we are hopeful of our upcoming longer (much longer) trip!
