We are very fortunate that Jim and Debby’s house is very close to the Grand Canyon. So, we decided to take a day trip up there on our last full day. It has been about ten years since Trent had been there. It has been quite a bit longer for me – about 25 years! The funny thing is I saw the hotel that my family stayed at when we drove into town and recognized it right away. The McDonalds that was right across the street was still there, but thankfully had been redone at some point in 25 years. :)
We went to the visitor’s center when we first arrived. It was COLD up there! The high was in the mid-50s that day.
First glimpse of the Canyon:
Harper was there :)

Hudson freaking mommy out…and like a good mommy – I took a picture:

A rare picture of Hudson looking at the camera:
I love this picture:
Trent took Hud down a little trail:
Right after this is where Hud melted. The poor kid had been up at 4:45 a.m. for the past 4 days straight and little to no nap. He crashed in the car right after that picture and took a (short) nap. Meanwhile, we continued to drive around the canyon so I could get out and take pictures with my new lens. :)
Jim stayed in the car with the kids (Harps was asleep by this point too) so we could get out together:
Amazing…my hair is half-way normal here:
What a beautiful sight and such a fantastic way to end our vacation!
