Dear Harper Joy,
You are eight months old!!! This letter is a little late because we were on your first road trip to Omaha when you turned 8 months. You were a fantastic little traveler. What a trooper you (and your brother) were in the car!
Harper Joy – is it possible you get sweeter every month? It really is. You are the happiest baby I have ever seen. Rarely fussy and so go with the flow. You stayed awake the entire 14 hours in the car (with two 20 minute cat naps) and yet you were STILL smiling when we pulled into Omaha at 10 that night! Unbelievable. But, more on that later.
You have had quite a month. You have started to scoot when on your belly. Not quite crawling and let’s face it – you aren’t on your belly very often. You prefer mommy’s arms. I am more than okay with that. You sleep exclusively on your tummy now (just like mommy!). You sit up like a champ and have started taking big girl baths. You LOVE your jumperoo (just like big brother did!).
You have had a big month in foods as well – you now eat – mangos, bananas, apples, blueberries, peaches, pears, avocados, apricots, plums, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and squash! You have also had chicken which you seemed to like a lot. You love puffs and yogurt melts. We have to keep a close eye on you though because you are our little choker which can be quite scary. You stuff those puffs in your little cheeks, almost as if you are scared someone (ahem – Hudson) might take them from you!
Speaking of Hudson – the love is still there. He adores you and is so sweet to you. If you cry – he is right there to comfort you. He loves introducing people to you and asks for you if you are not around. I love watching your relationship blossom.
You are a talker! (Also like your mommy!). You have said Dada, Mama, hi and bye bye. You babble non-stop and we love it.
Harper Joy, we love you so very much.
Love,
Mommy
