A Few of Trent's Favorite things...

Trent loves looking at all of the wonderful things that we have received for Hudson. Here are a few of his favorite things:

I am sure you can't guess why he loves some of those things! This is the gorgeous quilt my mom made! :)

Beautiful Shower!

Doris and my wonderful cousins gave me a gorgeous shower yesterday. It was wonderful! We had such a good time. So many of our family friends showed up which meant so much. Here are some pictures from the day:

For the second week in a row my mom shocked the room into silence with her domestic abilities that she has been hiding! :) She made Hudson a beautiful blue and brown quilt! I will post a picture of it later. I want to get a really good shot of it, it is so gorgeous! I am so proud of my mom and feel so lucky to have such a wonderful mother!!! I hope I am half as good of a mom to Hudson as she has been to me.

Baby Bedding!

Crib bedding has been such a huge dilemma for me. At first I was going to have Jess and my mom make it. I picked a few fabrics I liked, but I couldn't commit. Then I changed my mind and scrapped all of those fabrics. I found a few others I liked, but couldn't find the right shade to go with it. Two days ago, after going to countless fabric stores, I ended up at Pottery Barn Kids and bought some bedding. I still wasn't completely satisfied. So, today I looked on PBK one more time and found our final choice. Now I just have to order it.

Wonderful Friends!

Yesterday was such a wonderful day. My sweet friends gave us our first shower for Hudson. It was such a wonderful time. It was so fun to see so many of my favorite people in one place. I feel so fortunate because we were blessed with so many wonderful gifts. I can't begin to express how lucky I feel to have such good friends!!!

This was one of my favorite gifts. My Nanny (my grandmother) started this afghan before she passed away. My mom found it and finished it. She crocheted Hudson's initials right into the blanket. I absolutely love it!

I can't thank everyone enough!

Hudson at 33 weeks

We had another appointment with the specialist today. Hudson was a little more cooperative and gave us a better shot of his face today. He is still a very large baby - measuring two and a half weeks ahead and he is in the 90th percentile!

Bingo!

To celebrate Trent's birthday we went to dinner and played Bingo last night with some of our friends. We had a great time! The evening started at The Original (the oldest Mexican food restaurant in North Texas). Holly spotted a motorcycle "she would love to sit on". It turned out that it belonged to a member of our dinner group! So, her wish was granted:

Then it was on to Bingo! We went in not planning on winning, just there to have some fun. The last time Trent and I played Bingo (a few years ago) there was a computer system most of the players were using. Those of us playing the old fashioned way were pretty much out of luck. We arrived to find out that there are no more computers!

While in line we met a new friend named Karen. She was gracious enough to share her table with us and explain to all of us novices how to play. Out of the nine of us we ended up with four winners! Our most competitive friend (Jess) was the first winner of the group! The Fletchers each won a round, too. However, our big winner of the night was Rachel! She made us all proud.

Our big winner:

We had a couple of false alarms:

We had so much fun that we hope to go back for Jack's birthday. He will get to play for just a penny!!! Thanks for going everyone! :)

Hudson's Nursery

Trent and I spent part of our Christmas vacation clearing out the house and the nursery in preparation for Hudson's arrival! We made a LOT of progress and are pretty proud of what we accomplished. In addition to clearing out his room, we also cleaned out every single closet in the house! We filled the Tahoe and donated a lot of items to Goodwill. Also, we sold a lot of books and cds to Half Price Books (ask us about that next time you see us). Here are some recent pictures of Hudson's room. We purchased the crib mattress last week. We also put the chocolate brown bedspread on the bed last week - now I just need to find some blue accent pillows! My mom, Jessica and I will begin working on the bedding for his crib shortly!! :)
Here are some pics of Trent putting the crib together:

New Year's Eve 2007!

We had such a great time for NYE this year. Frankly, I think it is a made up holiday, but we had such fun with our friends that I came around to enjoying it this year. I even managed to stay up until midnight which is a feat these days!

The Goodyears hosted a very fun party. We started with "marble slab" ice cream (I got to have a tiny taste), played some games (which the girls dominated) and then rang in the New Year with the annual ball dropping. Such fun!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!**

**No worries, I had a little sparkling cider to ring in the New Year! Hudson is perfectly safe. :)

Christmas Lights!

Trent and I looked at more Christmas lights than ever this year! We loved it. We made two trips to Highland Park, two (or three) trips to Fort Worth and toured Interlochen. We had such a great time driving around listening to Christmas music and looking at lights. The "wrapped tree" was a big theme in 2007! Here are a couple of pictures...

Here is a picture of our house and our lights this year:

Below are some pictures from our absolute favorite house in Fort Worth. We drive by every year to look at their lights.
