Hudson Takes A Bath!

We gave Hudson a bath today and captured it on film. Our sweet little baby doesn't enjoy bath time very much as you will see from the pictures....

First Outing

Hudson had his first outing today. We took him to meet his new pediatrician. It was nice (for me at least) to get out for a little bit. He did great at the appointment and Trent and I both found it to be a very helpful appointment. The only bad thing was that his jaundice score was up a little again, so he had to have another blood test. Luckily, he slept through the whole thing. Now we are just praying he doesn't have to go back in the tanning bed!
Here are pictures of his first outing:
Here is a little sneak peek at our night last night....it started like this:

Free at Last!

Hudson got the okay to be released from his tanning bed this afternoon! We are so excited. His score dropped tremendously, so it looks like the jaundice is gone! I think he is enjoying his new napping spot much more than under those heat lamps:

Our little pumpkin

Hudson has a little bit of jaundice. I was pretty upset yesterday to find out that he was going to have to have treatments, but fortunately it is something we can do at home. He looks pretty cute in his tanning bed with his Ray Charles glasses:

***FYI: Jaundice is apparently very common in newborns and has no long term effects.

More pictures of our precious Hudson

Hudson meets his new friend Claire. She was so sweet to baby Hudson and read to him. I look forward to taking many more pictures of Hudson with all of the Goodyear kids.

Daddy feeding Hudson in our hospital room. Trent is such a wonderful dad already. I feel so lucky to have him as a husband and for Hudson to have him as his father!Hudson with his Papa.
A few last minutes in the hospital bassinet.
I think he kind of looks like an elf here. :) But, the cutest elf I have ever seen!

Ready to go home!

Hudson's first car ride! He did so well - he slept the entire way home including a stop to pick up sandwiches for lunch.

Hudson is here!!!

Trent and I are so proud to introduce you to our beautiful baby boy! He was born Tuesday, February 19th at 8:03 a.m. As predicted, he was a big boy! He weighed in at 8 and 1/2 pounds and 20 inches long. There was even a comment made in the OR about how big he was! He is the sweetest little boy and we love him so much. We can't wait for all of our friends and family to meet him! (oh yes, he was 2 weeks early).

Valentine's Day!

Trent and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day. We celebrated twice this year. Last weekend with dinner out at one of our favorite restaurants Bob's. Then last night we celebrated with one of our favorite traditions fondue at home. Fondue takes great preparation at our house. First, we have to clean off the table and lay down papers everywhere so the oil doesn't splatter:

Trent whips up these fabulous sauces to dip our meat in. A horseradish and ketchup mixture.

And we have these fabulous twice baked potatoes:

For dessert I made homemade strawberry cupcakes with homemade strawberry icing. The icing turned out a little too sugary, but the cupcake was good. At least Trent seemed to enjoy them:

Then it was time for Trent's Valentine's present. I got him a shirt from one our favorite shows Friday Night Lights (see post below on how to help save this great show). You have to watch the show to truly appreciate the shirt, but Trent was excited!
