Omaha Road Trip – Day 2 (Night)

After our wonderful day at the zoo, we drove around for a while so the kids could nap/rest. Harper got in a 45 minute nap which was just perfect!

That night Trent’s extended family came over for a barbecue.  It was the perfect weather for it!

Hudson was dying to climb a tree…I am not sure where this sudden desire came from, but Trent was happy to help:

I wanted to get a replica of this picture:

Obviously, I realize that the kids are growing up (and I don’t want to talk about it!!:)). But, it FLOORS me how much they have changed in the past year when I look at those pictures next to each other. W.O.W.!

 

This little stinker got into the cooler, got a capri sun out, unwrapped the straw and stuck it in – all.by.herself. Stinker! :)

It is so rare I get pictures of the kids and I together. I treasure them!!! I need to take more!

Omaha Road Trip – Day 2 (Day)

No trip to Omaha is complete without a visit to their wonderful zoo!

We hit the ground running…there was an employee that had the skin of a snow leopard laying there.  Hudson wanted to pet it, of course:

Our first stop was the aquarium:

Hud was fascinated by this guy cleaning a tank (he is still talking about it days later):

Next stop – giraffes!

I don’t know what was going on here, but this made me laugh!

Now that Harper is a walker – she was itching to get out and show off her skills:

Lunch break! We always pack a lunch and go back to the car to eat it:

They have a fantastic butterfly exhibit.  When Hud was six months old, we took him and he was fascinated.  Four years later, he is still fascinated:

Riding on Daddy’s shoulders is way more fun than the back of the stroller!

This baby seal was only 2 weeks old!

 

Trent decided that Hud needed to give him a ride:

Hud wanted to go back to the aquarium. It was way more crowded at this point…shoulder to shoulder!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather (80s!)! It was a beautiful day at the zoo!
