First Birthday Party

A few weeks ago we took Hudson to his friend Braxton's first birthday party. As always, Huddy Buddy was the life of the party! ;)

California Trip Day 5

Our last day of vacation. It was hard to leave such beautiful weather and scenery! But, we were so excited to get home to Hudson! I wish I had pictures from his weekend with Nana and Papa, but unfortunately Nana's camera broke. I will let you know that he learned to "fist bump" and give kisses! More pictures of that to come as we capture them...

California Trip Day 4

At the B&B a couple told us about a winery tour they took in Napa. It is in a castle. This guy took 14 years to build an exact replica of a castle. It was a very cool tour:

Trent wasn't really in trouble on the tour...if you stood in opposite corners and whispered to each other you were able to hear each other loud and clear!

We ate at an outdoor hamburger place in Napa that was excellent! Their burgers rivaled Kincaid's! :)

California Trip Day 3

Our third day we spent the day in Healdsburg (which is the area where we stayed in Sonoma County). The first place we went was a small winery that gave us a tour. There was also an opportunity to do a barrel tasting (which I was told was a big deal - per Trent):

Some of the beautiful scenery:

We kind of crashed our friends vacation. Daon and Bryan planned their trip quite a few months ago and planned to stay at the same place we had stayed last summer. After talking to them about the trip and remembering our trip, we decided we had so much fun we wanted to go again. It turned out that we were going to be there at the exact same time. It was so much fun to hang out with them and stay up late talking and laughing. Here is a picture from dinner one night:

California Trip Days 1 and 2

We had such a wonderful time during our trip this weekend! However, getting there and back was a bit of a nightmare. I booked a ticket two months ago using miles and apparently it was never processed. I didn't find out until I got to the airport and was trying to standby for an earlier flight. By some miracle Trent was able to book a ticket there and back on the exact days we needed using miles (the same amount as before) and we had to pay a little bit. But, thankfully I made it there.

But, then coming home Trent was flying standby and the flights before us got delayed. So, he didn't get on my flight. We didn't think it would be a big deal, he could just catch the next one. I left on my flight and Trent got on the next flight. Right when they were about to take off they cancelled it! There was no way he was getting out of SF today, so he ended up having to fly to Chicago at midnight and then catch a flight home this morning. Meanwhile, I landed at 12:30 a.m. and then went back to DFW this morning to pick him up. Needless to say, we were both pretty tired!

However, the actual vacation part was wonderful! We stayed at the same bed and breakfast that we did last year. This year we stayed in a cottage that we both loved! Here are some pictures:

The first day I didn't take too many pictures. Here are a couple of pictures from the first place we went:
