We started off Labor Day at the zoo with the Oakley family.

After naps we headed to my parents to grill out and have one last swim (which turned out not to be the last swim, but that is Texas for you)…

It was a fun day.  I love 3 day weekends with the family. :)

Relaxing Sunday…

The best part of a three day weekend is Sunday is even more relaxing than usual! We played hooky from church this morning and started the day at the park:

We came home and had some lunch. Then Hudson and I both took THREE HOUR NAPS!!!!  It was pure heaven.  I am always amazed when Hudson takes a long nap because it is so rare. We were both worn out apparently!  We ran a few errands – including going to Home Depot where Trent says Hudson was treated like royalty. :)  It was quite hilarious – the workers at Home Depot were on friendliness overload today.  One man gave Hudson two balloons (thank goodness because the kid has an obsession with balloons and does not get why he can’t have every single one he sees) and let him talk on his walkie-talkie.  Another cashier kept giving him Mickey Mouse stickers. All in all I think we talked to about ten different people who worked there during our 45 minutes there.

After a delicious dinner at Joe T’s, we came home and played outside in the beautiful weather for a while:

Such a fun day and so excited that we have another full day to enjoy tomorrow with Trent! :)

Harper Joy

27 weeks

Here is a profile shot of our baby girl – Harper Joy!  We finally settled on a name for her and I couldn’t be happier.  I love that she and Hudson will have the same initials and I have a feeling her name is going to fit her perfectly.  Hudson has learned her name and says it in his precious southern accent (my mom keeps saying she is going to start calling him the colonial). I will have to get it on video.

I am having flashbacks of my pregnancy with Hudson – once again I grow big babies!  She was well over 3 pounds at my 27 week appointment.  They are going to keep a close eye on her growth over the next couple of months.  Even though I somehow managed to pass the 3 hour glucose test for gestational diabetes, no one is buying it.  So, I am back on the GD diet and back to checking my blood 4 times a day.  We are moving along – waiting patiently to meet her and I am ever so grateful that summer is coming to an end.  I will not miss the heat at all. I look forward to getting outside with Huddy again!

My “sweet” boy

Hudson is hooked on dum dums.  This is entirely my fault, of course.  Dum dums are the world’s greatest bribe.  Need to get through a trip to Target?  Dum dums.  Want to exit the park on a hot Texas day when you are very pregnant without a 2 year old meltdown?  Dum dums.  They quite possibly are the answer to a lot of the world’s biggest problems (when you are referring to a 2 year old that is).  But, the downside is that they are apparently very addictive.  And therefore Hudson wants them all.the.time.  He calls them “one” (probably because we say “just one”, when he asks for one). And he asks for “one” quite frequently…DSC_1091 DSC_1076 DSC_1078 DSC_1079 DSC_1080 DSC_1081 DSC_1083 DSC_1084 DSC_1085 DSC_1087 DSC_1089
