Rolling Fool...

Okay, so he has been rolling for a while but it has really just been occasionally when he feels like it. Until today...it started this morning when we found Huddy on his stomach in his crib and he has been rolling ever since all day long. I managed to catch him in action this afternoon.

Last Days of the Road Trip

Trent and I love to eat Runza's in Omaha. I wish we had one here. We always bring back frozen Runza's to enjoy here. I had a Runza for lunch and dinner one day. Yummmmm...anyway, we had to have one last Runza before we left the state. Hudson looks like he will love Runza's too...

To break up our drive on the way back we stopped by KU. We weren't able to see much because it was pouring while we were there. It is a beautiful campus though. In the background you can see the football team practicing. It was fun to visit there since Trent and I were able to see them win the Championship at the Final Four. We were going to stop by OU on the way home, but by the time we hit Norman we were just ready to be home. Maybe next time. I still question its actual existence though...a couple of years ago we were driving back after Christmas and craving CFA. Supposedly, there is one near campus, but after wasting an hour driving around looking for it we never saw it or the school. Norman isn't that big, people.

All in all it was a fun road trip! We are happy to have such a good little traveller on our hands. :)

Road Trip Day 4...

One of the things we love to do when we are in Omaha is go to the zoo. It is especially fun because Trent used to work there. We were so excited to take Hudson. We waited to go on our last full day to avoid the Labor Day/weekend crowd. A cool front blew in that day, the temperature started around 72 and by the time we left it was in the 50s and raining. We were able to see almost everything before the rain and the zoo was not crowded at all.

Shortly after the picture above Hudson woke up and did not care for the rain that was hitting him. We made a quick switch to the Bjorn and headed into the new butterfly exhibit. This was Hudson't favorite thing! The blue butterflies in the picture below made him so excited!!! I wish we had pictures that captured the extent of his excitement...his little legs and arms would pump up and down like crazy whenever the butterflies were near. It was so fun we went through it twice!

It was such a fun day! After we left the zoo we were freezing and headed to Starbucks. I knew that the pumpkin spiced lattes come out around this time of year and I was hoping we could get one. The barista in the drive through told us that they didn't come out until the next day (he actually burst into song and sang Tomorrow from Annie to us). We were disappointed and told him we didn't want anything, but had to wait in the line since we were in the drive through. We got up to the window and rolled it down to say thank you and we were about to keep driving and they told us to wait. The girl working there told us she had a surprise for us and the singing barista came up with two pumpkin spiced lattes! And he gave them to us for free! It was so nice and such a fun way to end our day. :)

We interrupt this program...

I am ridiculously excited about the new 90210. It seems many of my blogging friends were excited to because I have come across several posts that I have had to quickly click out of before I accidentally read a spoiler (or bad review). I loved the original back in the day and I am hoping to love the new one. Let's face it...when it comes to tv and movies I am not a tough sell...I am thinking I better go ask Trent to sacrifice college football so I can watch it on DVR...wish me luck with that one...

Road Trip Day 3

Day 3 was definitely a lazy day. We needed some recovery time from the drive and the game. We did hook up this fabulous chair for Hudson to use while in Omaha. My friend Christy had this at dinner one night for her daughter and I made a mental note. We have used it several times this week while we were out and Hudson loved it. The jumperoo (below) continues to be a hit as well.

Road Trip Days 1 and 2!

We are back from our very long road trip! Hudson did amazing!!! We told him over and over again how very proud we were of him. Out of the 24 hours we were on the road (there and back) I think I only sat in the back with him for two hours. The rest of the time he either slept or kept himself entertained. Myron was excellent company for Huddy as always. :)

One side effect from the trip...Hud would realize in the middle of the night that we were all in the same room in the hotel. Suddenly he did not want to be in the pack and play anymore and wanted to be with us. We gave in due to our need for sleep to keep driving the next day (at the early hour that Huddy would wake us up). Not something we have ever done before (or will do again unless we are in a hotel), but it worked out fine. Hudson loved the big bed:
Saturday we arrived in Lincoln. We were lucky enough to get tickets for the Nebraska game. They have sold out every home game for 25 YEARS! This was the second time we have gotten to go (we feel very fortunate) and this time Hudson got to go as well! So much fun...

Here we are waiting in traffic to find a place to park. We made our way to the parking garage we parked in last time we went. We were very late getting to the game last time and were able to find a space in there and park for free. This time we were super early and they were charging $10 to park. Unfortunately, we had no cash. Also, Hudson was super cranky and super tired of being in the car. We pulled up to the garage and found out we couldn't park there because we had no cash, I was desperate people. I leaned over and asked the college boys running the parking where they suggested we look to park because we had a cranky six month old in the back and if we weren't able to get out of the car soon I was going to start pulling my hair out piece by piece (I wasn't joking) they started laughing and waved us in to park for free. Score. I honestly wasn't even looking for that, just wanted some parking tips.

Anyway....
After parking we made our way on campus to meet Trent's mom and her neighbor Betty (who by the way is 83 and spunky! I sure hope I am like that when I am her age). We made a quick stop at the student union ATM to avoid future debacles like the parking situation:
Finally, it was time for the game. You have never seen anything like a Nebraska football game (disclaimer: I have never been to Kyle field and I went to Baylor). Every single person in the stadium is wearing red (we stopped by the bookstore to buy me a Nebraska shirt so I would fit in):
