Last week of Christmas break

We laid low the last week of Christmas break.
These two love a Nordstrom balloon:

Hudson started playing basketball this year. He loves it!! This was their first practice:

 These two are great cheerleaders:

Just a typical Sunday night at the Fletcher house:

The Tanners came over on the last day of break for a fun playdate:

I love how these two love each other!

Wrapping up December

We wrapped up December with some fun times. A little late evening hoops:

Walking with Dinosaurs (Harper sat that one out):

New Year's Eve Day fun with friends:

And Trent and I enjoyed a low-key New Year's Eve at home:

I can't say 2013 was my favorite year.  There are a variety of reasons why, none that I really want to go in depth about on here.  But, suffice it to say 2013 is one year that I wasn't sad to see go.  However, even during the hard times, we were blessed beyond measure.  I am excited to see what 2014 brings.

Mini-Road Trip

The kids and I had discovered a hidden jewel, The Heard museum, last year.  We decided Christmas break was a great time to make a return trip.  The dinosaur exhibit was such a hit with the kids last time. We checked out the animals inside first:

Then headed out to hike the trail and see the dinos:

This guy kept spitting on Hudson last year, so he kept his distance this year:

After The Heard and a yummy lunch, we hit Ikea for some playroom organization help. The influx of Christmas toys left quite a mess.  We weren't quite prepared for what we ended up getting and had to drive home from Frisco like this:

Thankfully, it wasn't as cold as some of the days we have experienced this winter!
The next day we gave the playroom a massive makeover. Before:

And after:

The day after...AKA Trent's Birthday...

Trent likes a low-key birthday since it is the day after Christmas.  We hung around the house and laid low.  and then picked up pizza from a new (to us) place.  After dinner, we headed to Fort Worth to check out the lights - jammied up:

Trent wanted a Keurig for his office.  Since they come in a huge box, rather than wrapping it, I had the kids stand in front of it.  They were super excited to surprise Daddy:

Christmas Day!

Santa came and was ready for the littles!

We made Hudson wait, while we woke up Harper:

Harper had been so worried about Santa coming to our house (remember, not a fan). She was pleasantly surprised at what he left and the fact that he didn't come to her room:

Hudson's class took a field trip to the Dollar Store where they picked out gifts for each family member. Hudson was passing his gifts out here.  He put so much thought into each gift, it was the sweetest!!! He got Trent a mirror, so he wouldn't have to share mine anymore (which was actually Trent's, but we didn't tell Hud that), Harper a bath toy and me some plastic flowers (because I love flowers and I love things that smell good). He is the sweetest boy ever!

I love these two pictures:

We took the last ring off of our Countdown to Christmas:

Chandey came through ;)

We had a nice relaxing Christmas. A wonderful Mexican feast and early bedtimes for the littles, who were worn out from all the excitement.  The kids were thrilled by everything. I love experiencing it all through their little eyes!
