A good, good day...

I dread endo appointments. Hudson, when you are reading this one day - I love you so much. And I hate that you have Type One. But, you are amazing and resilient and my hero. And you handle it like a champ. But, the endo appointments are a painful reminder to me of all you have to go through. I hope that one day it won't feel that way and I hope it never feels that way for you. But, we are here for you and we love you.

That said, the endo appointment was great and he is doing awesome! And as always, we celebrate a life well lived after those appointments.

After lunch of choice (CFA, of course) and a stop by JDRF, I took Hudson with me to vote in the Presidential primary:

Then we picked up the girls and the 5 of us hit the park:

We came home and gave Fin a nap. And I was reminded again what a huge blessing she is to our family. I love this little cherry on top:

Craziest.weekend.ever.

My baby girl had her first dance competition! It brought back so many memories and emotions for me. I didn't start competing until I was much older than Harps, I am so proud of her! It takes a lot of courage to get up on stage and perform in front of an auditorium full of people! She did so great!!

Hudson had two basketball games at the same time. I was very sad to miss his last games. It is hard to not be able to be in two places at once! And he had his best game of the season! I am so proud of him.

On top of that, we had our downstairs painted, also at the same time. Because apparently we are insane! Ha!

Before:

After:

We could not be happier! We took weeks to decide what color to go with. The winner was Revere Pewter (we had Sherwin Williams color match it). The space is fresh, airy and so much brighter. LOVE!

And finally, on Sunday we got to shower this sweet friend and her precious baby boy!

This and That

This pretty girl was happy to get her hands on some Little People. Harper is always afraid she is going to choke on them even though I tell her there is no way Fin can:

Working on standing alone:

Sweet sisters:

Fin LOVES to pretend eat and real eat...but pretend eating is her favorite pretend play:

My mom and I hit up the Smocked Auction Sample Sale. We had so much fun even though it was more smocked insanity than usual!

Hudson's Jedi Training Birthday Party!

8 is a big deal. I know this because I have been told this MANY times over the past few months. Ha! We went through a lot of different party ideas before we landed on one that satisfied the birthday boy....a Jedi Training party!

We had been planning it for a while and were VERY worried when the stomach bug invaded us (I do not mess around with the stomach bug). Once we were sure it was contained and sure it wouldn't spread, we continued on with plans. It was fun figuring out different Star Wars snacks to serve:

The boys played basketball while we waited on everyone to get there:

Then it was time for a guessing game! We put different characters on the boys backs and they had to ask questions to try to figure out who they were:

Then it was time for the training. We set up different stations for them to complete. Corn hole, they had to kick the soccer ball at Darth Vader, complete an obstacle course, learn light saber techniques and shoot Nerf bullets at a storm trooper.

Little sister was not so impressed by all the Star Wars shenanigans:

After a snack break:

It was time for silly string!

Fin was not so sure either:

Then it was time to defeat Darth once and for all:

This part Harper was SUPER excited for...she had been wanting to take on the piñata all week!

Then it was cake time!

All in all it was a very successful party!! I think Hudson and his friends had a blast! I know Trent and I had a blast planning it. I can't believe my baby is 8!!!
