Fifteen Months!!!

Dear Hudson,
You are fifteen months old!!! What a month we have had together. The big news, of course, is that you are officially walking! It took a while to get there, but over the course of an hour you took off and haven't stopped since. We are so proud of you. You are so precious toddling around and you are so curious about everything around you. Everywhere we go you want to explore as much as possible. I love that you still like to cuddle with us despite your independence. You play so well on your own, but you love it when we play with you - which we are more than happy to do. You still like to speak your own little language, but you went through a phase where the ONLY word you would say was "okay". It was quite hilarious. You still think big kids are the best and find anything they do hysterical. You get so excited when your daddy walks in from work, which we both love to see. You are still a very good eater, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one. :) You love bathtime and are very attracted to water in general. I am hoping that means lots of time at the pool this summer. You still love music and the first thing you do at Nana and Papa's is head to the piano. Your little personality is coming out more and more everyday and it is precious to see. You are our sweet, laid-back little man and we could not love you more than we do!!!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Soccer Game

Now that Hudson is walking, I thought it would be fun for the two of us to go to Trent's soccer game. I thought it would be easier since I wouldn't have to worry about him crawling around...silly me. :) I don't think I saw a single minute of the game - I spent the entire time chasing him. There were a few "big" kids playing their own soccer game and little Huddy wanted to join in so badly and couldn't figure out why he couldn't. (Sidenote: those big were so super sweet to him, I was really impressed). Despite the fact I clearly have a lot to learn about having a walker, we still had a great time!

Main Street Days

We took the kids to Main Street Days on Friday. We have hit the milestone we have been waiting for - walking! It was so much fun to let the kids get out of the stroller and play in the kidzone. They had tons of the blocks that Hudson loves and as soon as he saw them he made a beeline for them. Of course, he was also obsessed with the fountain - I am hoping this translates to a love for the pool this summer!

Kindermusik

Today was our last class of Kindermusik. This was really the only picture I got of the event - now that Hudson is walking, I was doing a lot of chasing! Guess I better get used to that. :) Anyway, it has been a fun experience for us both. Hudson really loves music and it was fun to watch him be so captivated by the teacher's voice (notice I said her voice and NOT his mommy's!). It was extra fun because we took the class with Mallie and Gates. The babies loved to interact with each other throughout class (the teacher did not love that so much:)).

We have a WALKER!!!!

Can you tell how extremely excited I am?? I will admit - this was a long time coming. When Hudson started crusing at 9 1/2 months we were convinced he was going to be an early walker. He waited to take steps until around 13 months and then today he finally started walking on his own. And when he decided to do it - he really took off. Over the course of an hour (literally) it suddenly clicked and he was all over the house. He was very proud of himself and you will be able to see (or at least hear) on the video that we were proud as well. My mom and dad were here to witness his initial walk. Unfortunately, Trent was out of town for the day on business and missed it. But, I was able to get lots of video and he will have all the time in the world to witness it as we start to chase our little boy! It was a bittersweet moment for me - as much as I have wanted him to walk (for various reasons - one of those being he is heavy! :)) I still felt a twinge of sadness watching my baby turn into a toddler before my eyes. I quickly reminded myself he will always be my baby. :) We are so proud of our baby boy! :)

Mother's Day 2009

We had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration today at our favorite place. :) The line wasn't even that long considering and Hudson was able to enjoy some newfound freedom while we waited. :)
We had a great time and I was grateful that I was able to celebrate my wonderful mom and get to celebrate with the sweet little one that made me a mommy. :) Hope that you all had a wonderful day as well!

What we have been up to...

...a whole lot of nothing. A stomach virus (and no it was NOT swine flu) wreacked havoc on our family this weekend. I came down with it first late Wednesday night, it hit Trent on Friday morning and poor Huddy on Friday night. I can honestly say it is the worst stomach viurs I have ever had. And apparently very potent since Trent never gets sick, even when I am sick. I am happy to say that after almost a week of quarantine we seem to be back on the mend. Fingers crossed...
