Just another day at the park…

A cold front blew in Thanksgiving weekend.  We warmed up by taking a brisk walk to the park and then played for a while. I let the men do the heavy lifting…pushing I mean:

Hud is rather obsessed with the tire swing at the park lately. He prefers when others are in there with him. If he sees someone get on it – he makes a beeline for it to join them.

Harper LOVES to swing1

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a lovely Thanksgiving this year. We started out with our traditional Fletcher Family Turkey Trot:

After a quick run to the store for some last minute things, we sat down to watch the parade:

Hud’s fave!

Harper was not impressed:

Hud found a more comfortable spot:

We attempted ANOTHER picture of the two of them:

Hud is VERY patient with his sissy:

However, he was no longer amused at this point:

Or maybe he was:

(In Harper’s defense she had been sick with a cold for about five days at this point.  Pretty much I didn’t set her down at all for TEN days. Seriously. Non-stop holding. For ten days. I love holding my baby girl, but my arms hurt after ten days.)

However swinging made her very happy:

Nothing says Thanksgiving like a little Buzz Lightyear:

With a little turkey frying on the side:

And no Thanksgiving would be complete without a little pumpkin smoosh…the pie pretty much imploded on itself when mom took it out of the oven.  It was very reminiscent of the time I dropped a pan of baked beans down my legs and all over the kitchen in college…

Harper, our little eater, did not disappoint:

Hudson, our non-little-eater, also did not disappoint:

Our feast:

Brittany and Greg came to see us!  Loved getting to see them!! Hud loved their new puppy, too. :)

So did Hannah. :)

Happy Thanksgiving y’all…

Hug the ones you love…even if they scream in response!

Just hanging out…

“Mommy, I am just hanging out”

That is one of Hudson’s favorite expressions right now. Along with:

“What are you TALKING about?”

“Nuffin’” (When I asked what happened at school that day. Such a teenager already).

“Mommy, you’re my best friend” (I will take that one!)

He is full of awesome expressions and fun right now. I love hearing all of the new things that come out of his mouth daily. I *must* start keeping better track because there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t laugh out loud.

Anyway, we were just hanging out one day before Thanksgiving…
