Hudson is generally a pretty clean eater, but sometimes he gets a little crazy. The other night he was eating some black beans from our taco salads. We looked over to find this:

A few weeks ago we all went to the zoo. It had been awhile since we had been all together. Hudson takes so much more interest in the animals now and it was fun that Trent got to see that.
Checking out the giraffes…
The infamous backpack…something before I was a parent, I swore I would never use. Then I had Hudson…who is very active, always on the move and doesn’t understand that he has to stay with us. Fortunately, he LOVES his backpack and cries when we take it off. Win-win – he loves it and we know he is safe!
Can’t wait to go back to the zoo as a family again soon!
Homecoming is one of my favorite weekends of the year. I look forward to it so much every year. This was the seventh Homecoming Trent and I have attended together. Unbelievable! We started the weekend with our annual dinner at Ninfa’s. I have zero pictures there. It mainly involved Hudson running around outside while we waited an hour for a table. Then we headed to our friends, the Hagins’, to spend the night. We put Hudson to bed and stayed up late talking and having a great time!
The day started very early on Saturday. We managed to make it to the Chi O breakfast in time to see the pledges do their pledge songs. I don’t think I have EVER made it in time for that and I was pretty impressed that we made it there with a 20 month old! After Hudson made friends with a few of the actives (and by make friends I mean he crawled up in their laps and tried to steal their doughnuts…I wish I was kidding) we made our way to the parade. In a few years I look forward to watching the parade again, right now though Hudson likes to do what he does best – RUN!
Hudson and Gracie – I think this is the first picture I have taken of them where they are both looking at the camera:
Hudson is obsessed with dogs lately. Whenever he sees one he runs full-out towards it and then he isn’t sure what to do once he gets there. :)
Macy and Christine got to the parade and Hudson was in heaven! He loves Macy!
I glanced over and saw that they were walking the bear back to the bear pit:
Hudson LOVES balloons:
However, he hates it when they fly away:
He seriously stood there with his arms up like that for about five minutes. I think he thought he could will it back to the ground.
The Noze Brotherhood is one of my favorite things about Baylor. I think it is such a fascinating group and tradition. I *might* know one. ;)

We had such a great time! We were talking on the drive home about how Homecoming is one of our favorite traditions…we can’t wait until next year!

Dear Hudson,
You are twenty months old today! You are that much closer to two and I am not sure how I feel about that. :) Actually, I love it. I love you more and more each day. You are a precious ball of energy. You LOVE to be outdoors. Let you go outside and you will run and explore for as long as we will let you. You especially like the running part. :) You keep mommy on my toes, that is for sure. You had an interesting month – we discovered that your ear infections had caused quite a few problems for you. We went to the hospital on Friday to have tubes put in your ears. You were a champ! We are hoping you will start to feel a lot better soon! Since having the tubes a few days ago, you are already sleeping better, eating better and starting to talk a little more. Right now you love to say “uh-oh” and “okay” (an oldie but goodie). You love it when all of us (including Nana and Papa) are all home at the same time. You stand in the middle of the room and spin in a circle clapping your hands. You are way into giving hugs lately. It is your new favorite thing and I LOVE it. My heart feels like it might burst when you wrap your arms around my neck and squeeze. You love holding hands too. You are starting to recognize your friends and it is so fun to see. You get a big smile on your face when you see them. I always consider our pumpkin patch visits to be the kickoff to the holiday season and I am so excited for the holidays with you this year. We love you so much sweet boy.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
Yesterday we made our annual family trip to the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound. We go out there every year to pick out our pumpkins. It was so much fun to take Hudson this year and watch him run through all of the pumpkins.
And yet another flashback…

After we left the pumpkin patch we went to CFA as we do most Saturdays. Did you know you can trade in the toy from a kids meal for a free ice cream?? Hudson was LOVING it!
