Post-swim lessons on Friday, I had to run some errands. After finishing up, we headed to the play area. I thought it would especially be fun for Harper since she is a walker and all…however, she is definitely my timid child and a mall play area when the big kids are out of school is not a good mix:

We cut out quickly and ran over to grab a little In-N-Out before heading home…
Hud started swim lessons last week. I was really excited that we were a. able to get in a lot earlier this year and b. that he is able to take with his friend Jackson!
Hud was ready to go:
Sister enjoyed her first sucker during swim lessons. In fact, she enjoys several at each lesson (I am bringing Mr. B. a package of suckers at the end of our lessons to replenish his stash). She will eat about half of it and then throw it away and grab another…
Hudson is doing AWESOME! Such a change from last year when I had to drag him (literally) kicking and screaming back to the water. He is going under water with ease (even asking to do it again!) and swimming really well! Mr. B. is a miracle worker. :)
Another huge change…Hud wouldn’t go down the slide until the very end of swim lessons last year. This year he did it the first day!
The last few years our first swim has taken place on Memorial Day! So, inadvertently we have started a tradition. After nap/rest time, we got suited up and ready to head to Nana and Pop’s:
Harper is my water baby. She LOVES her bath and wants to stay in it FOR-EV-ER (I have to bribe her to get out). So, I had high hopes that she would love the pool. Sadly, those hopes were dashed on Memorial Day. (I am not giving up though!)

Thankfully, since Harper is relatively close to 20 pounds, she still fits in her float from last summer. We discovered she does like to float around in that – such a little diva already. :)
We met my parents for brunch at Joe T’s over Memorial Day weekend. We had a lot of (very belated and a few early) things to celebrate. Because of everything going on lately, we had yet to celebrate my mom’s April birthday and Mother’s Day. And my dad’s birthday was coming up that week. So, brunch it was! As usual, one of my children was very compliant with my need to take pictures:

Over Memorial Day weekend we took a meal to our friends who have a new baby (and just moved!). After we visited them a while, we headed to one of our favorite Dallas restaurants to eat. The kids did great and we were thankful to get to enjoy one of our favorite date night places with our kiddos!
