I was convinced the kids would nap for a while on the drive between Orlando and Seaside. They did nap for about an hour, but goodness they should have been wiped out!!!
We drove into Seaside around 9 and put the kids to bed pretty quickly. The next morning Hudson woke up bright and early (thanks to a super bright room). Trent took him out on the balcony to see the ocean while Harper and I slept. They saw a dolphin very close to the shore while they were out there! The kids were chomping at the bit to get down to the beach, so we headed down quickly.
And who can blame them – look at this view!
Hud’s first steps on the beach!
Harper was a little unsure of the sand at first. It took her a minute to warm up and then she really got into it:
The condo owners had a closet full of beach toys for the kids to play with:
There were tons of little fish swimming around and Hud was obsessed with trying to catch one:
Love this pic of my sweet girl:
Little diva:
Hud and Trent went WAY out into the ocean. Hud said he was “surfing”:
Trent and the kids built an awesome sand castle:
After many glorious hours on the beach (the beach brings me peace like none other), we headed upstairs to clean up for dinner. Friends had recently visited Seaside and they (along with many Facebook friends) recommended a restaurant for dinner. The Red Bar turned out to be a fantastic recommendation. It was one of my favorite meals of all time hands down:
Now this was NOT the most quiet restaurant, which shows how worn out Harper was from the week. The child who only took one stroller nap all week and rarely slept in the car fell asleep ON ME in the restaurant. It felt like she was a sweet newborn all over again, I loved it.
We raced home so I could get a picture of the sun setting over the ocean. We didn’t realize that the building next door would be in the way…ooops:
And we had to bring a bit of Disney with us to Seaside:
The beach was the perfect end cap to a magical trip!!!
