Well, Halloween was not quite the success I had hoped for. Truth be told, it was kind of a bust. I had high hopes for it because it was my silver lining for not having Harper early. I rested up all day for it since I have been under “house arrest” for over a week, but it didn’t quite go as planned…but, that is life with a 2 year old. :)
We got our little “woof” dressed up and ready to go:
Our neighbors across the street host a Halloween barbecue every year. It is the first thing every single neighbor mentioned to us when we move in. They set up a smoker and our whole street is invited. So, we headed over there to meet those we hadn’t met and let Hudson play with the kids:
I was pretty worn out by the time we decided to go trick-or-treating. I was determined to at least hit a couple of houses with Hudson and Trent before I had to go home to rest:
The first house we got to Hudson freaked. He wanted not part of going up to the house. When I asked him if he wanted candy, he said “No candy. Home!”
So home we went…
And then we went inside for him to eat the candy…you know from our house…
My mom gave Hudson a couple of Halloween treats (which were huge hits since he is very into dinosaurs and snakes these days):
He did tell the kids that came to the door “trick or treat” when we passed out some candy. Soon after that it was off to bed for our little guy. :) There is always next year…
