Our neighbors are kind enough to hold a block party every year on Halloween. Everyone gathers for dinner and then heads out to trick or treat. I fed Hudson ahead of time knowing there was no way he would stop playing to eat!
We headed out on our own to trick or treat since this was Hudson’s first year to really get it. Last year, as we tried to go to the first house he told us he was ready to go home. He started to do that this year, but quickly changed his mind. :)
He cracked me up because he wanted to trick or treat our house first!
Official house #1:
I never want to forget how he said trick or treat. He drug it out - “Triiiiiick or treat!” and he would say it as he rang the doorbell and not again. :)
On one street most of the people were sitting outside their houses. However, at one house Hudson heard their dog barking inside and the sweet owner took him in to meet the dog.
Hudson wasn’t scared of anything. Even teenagers in crazy, scary costumes didn’t scare him. He was also super polite to everyone asking which piece of candy he should take and only taking one (almost everyone then gave him 3 or 4 additional pieces and kept encouraging him to take more. Our 3 year old had quite the haul!!!)
He had a BLAST!!! He has asked to trick or treat every single day since then. :) Some funny quotes from the night that we want to remember:
“Spooky chicken” ??? We have NO idea where that came from .
“It is kind of spooky out here!”
And my favorite quote of the night…(well maybe Spooky chicken is my favorite):
”Happy Halloween Everyone!”
as we left the final house to the people who were walking up. :)
