My friend Melissa called a few weeks ago and wanted to plan a “big kid” trip like our friend Meg takes every year. It sounded like a great plan to me! We decided to do it in Waco this year. We left Harper with my parents (Trent was also out of town) and headed south.
We met Saturday morning at Hawaiian Falls in Waco. Hud couldn’t wait to hit the water!
Liz and her kiddos were able to meet us as well! Here are the four of them after a couple of fun hours in the water!
After about 5 hours, we were all toast. We decided to head back to the hotel to rest and clean up before dinner.
We tried to get these two to rest and watch a movie…which they sort of did. :)
There was a fish tank in the lobby that the kids were obsessed with (Hud even wanted to go tell the fish good night before bed!).
Exploring the hotel:
We made a stop at Academy on the way to dinner to get some BU gear and soccer gear before Hud’s first practice:
Since Baylor was starting back (and in the interest of tricking things up), we decided to try a new place. We headed to a hibachi grill for dinner. I was really hoping that Hud would be enthralled by it and therefore be persuaded to try the food. When will I ever learn?
After dinner, we headed to a custard place for dessert and so the kids could burn off their remaining energy (Christine and Macy had joined us by this point but for some reason, I have zero pictures!)
Super Batman Hudson made an appearance:
We headed back to the hotel and the kids went down without much of a fuss. They slept relatively well! It was such a fun inaugural trip!
More to come…
