The quality isn’t the best. The technique is way off. But, the following pictures are the best pictures I have ever taken…

Big day and 3 year stats…
Today was a big day in our house! First, I registered Hudson for Mother’s Day Out next year. It has been an on-going debate in my mind of where to send him, if I should send him, etc. I won’t bore you with all the details, but I finally came to a decision yesterday. Typically, places in our town fill up FAST and you have to get on the waiting list if you aren’t in line at 5 a.m. I was very lucky this year because registration was two days ago and the place I wanted to send him still had a few openings. So, I went this morning and signed him up! I feel really good about it. I think it is going to be great for all of us.
Hudson’s 3 year appointment was right at the same time that I had to go sign him up. Trent took him to his appointment and then Harper and I joined them as soon as we could. I was so proud of your little guy. He did SO well at the appointment. He loves the doctor and asked him to examine him again after he was done the first time. :) The doctor was pleased with Hudson’s development and overall health. Here are his 3 year stats:
Height – 40 1/4" – 95th%
Weight – 35 lbs – 75th%

Sunny days are here again…
After having so many sub-zero, freezing, icy, snowy days – Texas has rebounded in true Texas form….it is supposed to be 78 here tomorrow. In February. I am not okay with this. Moving on…
So, during one of the first nice days a few weekends ago we headed to the trails and the park. It was VERY nice to get outside after being inside for so long. Hudson enjoyed the fresh air and running (sometimes riding) around:

3rd Birthday!
Trent and I both went upstairs to get Hudson on the morning of his birthday. He was VERY excited about his birthday:
We headed downstairs for a birthday breakfast:
Then he opened a gift:
A Handy Mandy dvd for our road trip!
Our road trip took us to Glen Rose and Fossil Rim! Since we are not having Hudson’s birthday party for a few weeks, we wanted to do something really special. I remember going to Fossil Rim as a child and I just knew Hudson would love it since he loves animals so much.
THIS picture is a prime example of why I made Trent roll up Hudson’s window anytime an ostrich was in the area:
Hudson was enthralled!
Loving the zebras…
I can’t remember what was happening here, but it was REALLY funny:
We told Hudson to keep his eyes peeled for giraffe’s…this was what he did (and is still doing today when I ask him to keep his eyes peeled :)):
He enjoyed feeding the rams…until they started ramming our car!
Trent fed the giraffe. Hudson LOVES giraffe and wanted to feed one so badly. When we got to the next group of giraffes they were all laying down and the lazy things wouldn’t get up to come eat. :) Hudson was so sad and kept saying “come here baby giraffe! come here! come eat!”. Sadly, they didn’t. Maybe next time.
Still keeping our eyes peeled.
Hudson liked to throw the food out the window and say “catch it!”
We loved Fossil Rim so much we got a membership for our family so we can go back whenever we want!
Back when Trent and I were involved in the singles department at our old church, we used to go on retreats in Glen Rose. We ate at this BBQ place after the retreats and the two of us continued to eat there after we were married. We were excited to take Hudson there. He enjoyed it and did a great job sitting at the table with us instead of the high chair. Such a big boy :)
We had a fun birthday dinner at Joe T’s – where the ONLY thing Hudson had for dinner was a pink cookie one of our favorite servers brought him. She even put a candle in it for him. :) For some reason I took zero pictures.
We came home to do cake and presents. Trent made Hudson this cake while Hud was napping:
Hudson LOVED being sung to and made us sing it to him 3 times. He really liked blowing out the candle too. :) On Sunday, he had another piece of cake and made us sing to him first! :)
After opening presents, the birthday came to an end. :( But, the celebrating doesn’t! Looking forward to a fun birthday party soon!
