We were so excited that Trent had Good Friday and could spend the day with us! We were planning on a mini-road trip, but decided to stick closer to home due to our newly potty trained boy. So, we decided to head to the zoo. I anticipated it to be crowded due to the holiday, I did not anticipate that there would be holiday crowds AND field trips. Yikes.
We initially missed the turning lane the first time around (we were taken aback by the millions of cars AND buses) and had to do a quick lap. We parked and Trent and Hud headed to the gates. I got Harper unloaded and all of our stuff out of the car and met them up there. Hudson was busting at the seams to show Trent the new dinosaur exhibit.
We get to the gates and get in the very long line to go inside. We finally reach the front of the line and the attendant stopped us. Now, we go to the zoo weekly and have for 3 years. I have never been asked how old Hudson is until this day. I told her he had recently turned 3 after she (very rudely) asked how old he was. She informed me that we had to buy him a ticket or zoo pass RIGHT THAT MINUTE and we could not go through the gates until we did. Hudson was so upset and could not understand why he wasn’t allowed into his beloved zoo. Meanwhile, Harper is blowing up because she needs to eat. The attendant helpfully informs us we can go to member services instead of the general ticket line to get his pass. That was great since that line was only ten people deep. Good grief. So, Trent took Hudson while I fed Harper. Meanwhile, poor Hudson is STILL so upset and doesn’t quite get what is happening.
The result? This:
Yes, I will be keeping it forever.
