So as it has been well documented – Miss Harper isn’t walking yet. She is quite the stinker. :) She will walk holding one fingertip, push strollers (or whatever) all over the place, but will not walk on her own. She has taken random steps here and there, but mainly when she has been tricked and then won’t do it again. Our new pedi refers to ECI at 15 months, so we had an appointment two weeks ago (at 17 1/2) months. After a THREE HOUR evaluation (I don’t remember Hud’s being that long for speech, but I guess it was) it was determined that she has a delay in gross motor skills, though it wasn’t as big of a delay as I had assumed. She is only 29% delay and you must be 25% delayed to qualify. In every other aspect she is on the level of a 2 year old – they were very impressed with her verbal abilities. I asked the PT what her thoughts were and she agreed with our pedi that it is not physical and it is a personality thing. Her thought was she would be walking before our first appointment. Fingers crossed…
